Mulino di Massimbona Destination wedding: I will tell you about the dream of a couple with guests arriving from Greece, Spain and Italy. Borghetto sul Mincio welcomed and cradled them, Mulino di Massimbona hosted them on their wedding day.

Mulino di Massimbona, a fairytale wedding

Verona and Lake Garda, breathtaking views, a land rich in history and charm.

Water is an element often requested by foreign couples or those who choose to get married in a lake view location from afar.

Valeggio sul Mincio is the last town in Veneto bordering Lombardy, located about 25 km from Verona and Mantua.

10 km from Valeggio stands the Mulino di Massimbona, recently renovated and brought to new life, it was the place that made my spouses fall in love during the first inspection.

The Mulino di Massimbona was the beating heart of Isabella & Diego’s wedding, it welcomed their guests who arrived from Italy, Greece and Spain.

An intimate wedding of 50 people, cared for down to the smallest details with a fashion project for the day, glamorous and glittering for the evening.

Guest Overnight Stay

The guests stayed for 2 nights in one of the most beautiful villages in Italy, Borghetto di Valeggio sul Mincio in the province of Verona.

The guests went crazy when they saw the rooms and the Borgo.

They slept on the banks of the Mincio River surrounded by nature, between the sound of the water and the singing of the birds, a daydream.

The requests of the spouses

As often happens, couples who come from far away and foreigners make the same request… We would like a location with a view of Lake Garda or near/in front of the lake.

Verona and its province are full of exclusive villas, farmhouses, restaurants, unique locations and they fit perfectly with the requests of couples.

Borghetto di Valeggio sul Mincio was born on the banks of the Mincio river that from Lake Garda comes out of Peschiera del Garda to cross the morainic hills and the Po Valley flowing into the Po river.

Peschiera del Garda, Lazise, Bardolino, Garda, Malcesine, Torri del Benaco, are splendid locations that are born on the shores of Lake Garda.

You can find breathtaking locations for every type of wedding, from an intimate event with a few guests to a grand one with numerous guests and celebrations lasting 2 or more days.

The color palette, the choice of flowers and the mood of the wedding at Mulino di Massimbona

The color palette that the bride and groom wanted was green and white.

Based on the inspiration photos that we selected together and the idea of the wedding invitations, everything was born.

As always happens (if you don’t know, I’m a visionary) by looking at the elements that the bride and groom liked and listening to their wishes, I connected, imagined and saw right away, a good part of the wedding.

For me the circle was closed, green, white and gold would be the mood of the event on which to work and connect all the elements.

Invitations, ceremony, arrangements, accessories and details of Isabella & Diego’s wedding, and so it was.

The design project and the scenography

I divided the spaces of the Mulino di Massimbona making the most of the hours of light and the shaded areas, essential for the ceremony and the aperitif, given that the wedding was in the afternoon.

Welcome guest and music

To welcome the guests there was a live duo of percussion and sax that played international pieces in the key of bossa, jazz, funky to sum up in one word, lounge music perfect for this moment.

The duo then continued during the aperitif and from the cutting of the cake the DJ went into action with 360° music to get all the guests going.

CEREMONY

For the arch of the ceremony we chose a circular shape with mixed greens, green amaranthus (which I love) olive tree, magnolia, and white flowers, very poetic and in perfect style with the Mulino di Massimbona.

Peonies, lisiantus, delphinium, bridal veil, green and white hydrangeas and climbing roses.

White vintage-style wrought iron chairs with a bouquet of bridal veil and olive tree on the side with white silk ribbon.

For the aisle white rose petals.

Heartfelt advice, if the ceremony will be held on the grass, do not use the runner, it makes no sense, it does not adhere well and you will trip (seeing the curled carpet in the photos is not the best)

Use the same budget that you invested for the carpet using real petals.

Synthetic ones are prohibited in some locations, but you can use real petals anywhere.

DINNER

From the very beginning I thought that Diego & Isabella’s wedding dinner had to be the highlight of the wedding, the guests had to be amazed and remember it for life like the bride and groom themselves.

We created an imperial table with bare light wood tables, gold Parisian chair, transparent glass plate, white napkin and Amalfi green paper menu printed in white and gold.

Each guest had their name as a place card in gold back-painted plexiglass.

At the base of the table there were mixed greens and worked glass jars with bouquets of flowers from the selection.

Gold tea light holder and single candelabra with white, ivory and pale green stem candle and gold with transparent glass flame guard.

Every meter there was a 90 cm high gold geometric stand with a composition of flowers in the chosen green and white palette positioned between one chandelier and the other.

LIGHTS AND SCENOGRAPHY

The Imperial Table was immersed in a tunnel of warm lights, placed on a wooden structure.

Every 2 meters there was a 12-arm Venetian blown glass chandelier (see article cover photo)

CAKE CUTTING

We moved the ceremony arch and placed it on the islet surrounded by water.

We enriched the structure with glass spheres with tea lights and flower arrangements used for the ceremony and the tableau.

Behind the arch we placed 8 sparkular (spark fountains) to enrich the scenography and make this moment spectacular.

The photographer’s flash is not enough to illuminate the entire area well, the cake cutting must always be well lit.

The furnishings and details

We used awnings covered in white flounced fabric to provide shade on the food during the aperitif.

In the evening they were illuminated and transformed into a relaxation area with sofa sets, white leather armchairs and side tables with candles and flowers.

The open bar and the cooking of gourmet hamburgers in full view was done in the other two awnings for the party after the cake cutting.

The wedding at the Mulino di Massimbona was simply wonderful.

A project with a noteworthy scenography welcomed in a unique location for a wedding curated and thought out in the smallest details.
